1.3.162026-10-20
Import a PDF as a notebook, Today button fix, reordered pages sync, Neat writing Undo and suggestions.
- Import a PDF as a new notebook (Notes, +, Import PDF) or into an open notebook; share PDFs into NorthStar.
- The Today button always goes to today, even if the app stayed open overnight.
- Reordered pages now sync to your other devices.
- Neat writing: the Undo button no longer covers the page; the suggestion list starts with the best guess.
1.3.152026-10-19
Neat writing: unsure words now keep your own handwriting, just tidied; Undo button fixed.
- Neat writing: unsure words now keep your own handwriting, just tidied; Undo button fixed.
1.3.142026-10-19
Neat writing: can now be turned on from the board and on Android; converts only words it is sure about.
- Neat writing: can now be turned on from the board and on Android; converts only words it is sure about.
- Neat writing: a button beside the saved pens, a badge on each neat pen, Neat writing for this pen on a saved pen's long press, and a Neat writing row at the top of Settings, Pen & ink. Turning it on asks which pen and puts it in your hand.
1.3.132026-10-19
Android: fixed the app closing at start after updating to 1.3.12.
- Android: fixed the app closing at start after updating to 1.3.12.
1.3.122026-10-19
Neat writing turns the words you write with chosen pens into neat handwriting, page turns are smoother, Undo survives closing the app, and a pen held still straightens a line or shape.
- Neat writing (beta) on iPad, iPhone and Android: choose which pens use it in Settings, Pen & ink, Neat writing pens. It is off until you turn it on for a pen. When you pause after a word written with that pen, the word turns into neat handwriting. It is not on the web or Mac.
- Neat writing: Undo or Show my writing brings your own handwriting back. Your original ink is always kept.
- Neat writing: a word it is not sure about is only tidied and gets a small marker. Tap the word to pick from a short list of words, type the word, or keep your writing.
- Neat writing learns from the words you pick and type, on all your devices. Forget learned words in Settings, Pen & ink clears what it learned.
- Neat writing: Convert page in the page menu turns a page you wrote before into neat handwriting, with a before and after preview first.
- Neat writing also works in notebooks that scroll, waits a little longer when you pause in the middle of a word, and a Pencil tap on a marker no longer leaves a dot.
- Turning pages with a swipe is smoother, and a new page at the end of a notebook appears at once.
- Undo keeps working after you close the app: reopen a notebook and you can undo the changes from last time, one by one.
- Hold the pen still at the end of a line and it straightens. Circles and ovals, rectangles and triangles snap to a neat shape too. Lift to keep it; Undo takes it away. Turn it off in Settings, Pen & ink, Hold to straighten.
- Lines are smoother and straighter while you write, and the Smooth and Softer ink settings now do more. Letters keep their shape.
- Top 3: in Write and type mode, a long entry fits on two smaller lines, and one that is still too long ends with an ellipsis.
- Day notes are full A4 pages. The day shows the top-left part of the page.
- Handwriting correction (beta): choosing the sample notebook now tells you whether it worked. It needs 3 pages with writing.
- Handwriting correction (beta): a new Try it page lets you test the correction on a scratch pad and pick the strength.
- Settings: rows line up with the page title, and on iPad the next level of settings opens in the right-hand pane.
- On iPad, tapping an event opens its details in a popover beside the event.
- The notebook toolbar fits on iPad in portrait and on iPhone.
- Day notes sit in a cleaner frame that lines up with the day.
- With very large text on iPhone, the Language buttons stack instead of being cut off.
1.3.102026-10-16
Sync on iPhone is fixed, writing is never lost when you leave a notebook, and you can keep several pens in the toolbar.
- Fix: an iPhone that had fallen behind no longer gets stuck downloading the same changes over and over; it catches up even on a slow connection.
- Fix: a device that had not caught up could delete pictures and handwriting that another device was still using. It no longer does, and pages that lost a picture or ink this way get it back after the update.
- Fix: leaving a notebook no longer throws away what you wrote since you last left it. A save that gets stuck now gives up after 15 seconds instead of blocking every later save.
- Fix: Top 3 date ranges now work for handwriting too. Days inside a range show the range's Top 3, and days after it show the week's again. Ranges you made before keep what you wrote in them.
- Long Top 3 entries now wrap onto a second line before the text gets smaller.
- Keep up to 8 pens in the toolbar, each with its own type, width and colour. Tap one to switch; press and hold to save the pen you are holding there, or to remove it.
- Curves and slow handwriting are drawn smooth instead of jagged.
- Fix: on Android tablets, Pencil only on the timetable now lets the pen write and stops the finger. Before, the pen could only write when finger drawing was on, which let fingers write too.
- A notebook opens on the page you last wrote on.
- New documents and day notes use A4 pages.
- Stickers: select several stickers at once, inside a folder or at the top, and delete or move them together.
- Folders of stickers can be selected several at a time, and scanned pages added to a notebook become pictures you can move, resize and crop.
1.3.92026-10-07
Calendar links without .ics work, and editing Google events is fixed.
- Fix: a calendar link no longer has to end in .ics. Any link that serves a calendar, such as a school timetable subscription link, can be added; NorthStar checks what the link returns and refuses it only if it is not a calendar.
- Fix: giving an all-day Google event a time (or making a timed one all-day) no longer fails with “Couldn't save to the remote calendar yet”.
- Fix: saving a change to an all-day event that lasts several days keeps all its days instead of shrinking it to the first one.
- Fix: editing an event keeps its own time zone instead of switching it to Ljubljana time.
1.3.82026-10-05
NorthStar updates itself on Android, the web and Mac.
- New: NorthStar updates itself on Android, the web and Mac. When a new version is ready, a popup offers it with its notes. Android downloads it and asks you to install; the web app reloads; on Mac the popup opens the download. iPad and iPhone are not affected.
- Fix: on iPhone the calendar's top bar stays on one line, and the month view shows event names instead of dots.
- Fix: “Clear and try again” on the “can't open the stored data” screen now really clears it on iPhone, iPad and Android (the old copy is set aside, not deleted).
1.3.72026-10-05
Check for updates yourself, and room to write at the bottom of a page.
- New: Check for updates yourself. Settings, About, Check for updates: Android and Mac download the new version, the web app reloads, and on iPad and iPhone you can Ask for the update.
- New: Room to write at the bottom of a page. Push the page up slowly to write on the last lines comfortably; a quick swipe still turns the page.
1.3.62026-10-05
Handwriting correction from your own sample notebook, select several folders, and pencil fixes.
- New (beta): Handwriting correction from your own sample notebook. Settings, Pen & ink, Beta: pick a notebook of your best handwriting, or Make a sample notebook, and choose Gentle, Normal or Strong. New writing is redrawn toward your own letters a moment after you write, with Undo. You can make or change your sample any time.
- The earlier Handwriting correction (beta) that straightened lines was removed.
- Select several folders in Notes to move or delete them together.
- Fixed: switching between the pencil and the eraser no longer jumps back to the first pencil. The app remembers your pencil, its colour and its thickness, even after a restart.
- Fixed: the time labels on the timetable follow the chosen look and font.
1.3.52026-10-04
Handwriting tidy-up, tables, turning pages, and more in notebooks.
- Handwriting correction (beta): Settings, Ink. After a pause the writing on a line is straightened. A chip says Tidied with Undo, and Undo restores your exact strokes. Tidy page is also in the page menu.
- A notebook page turns with its writing and pictures (Portrait / Landscape). Older notebook pages are brought to A4 when opened.
- Tables in notebooks: Insert, Table. Choose rows and columns, type in the cells, drag the edges, add or delete rows and columns.
- Pictures in notebooks can be rotated with a handle, and cut, copied and pasted between pages. A pasted picture lands where you tapped and stays movable. The Pencil can grab the resize and rotate handles.
- Pictures in notebooks load faster and no longer flash empty on a page that is still downloading.
- Copy pages to another notebook, or to a new one, from the page menu.
- Each pen remembers its own colour: pen, fountain pen and highlighter keep theirs when you switch.
- A one-page scan goes on the page you are on.
- Android only: share a picture from another app into NorthStar, as a sticker or into a notebook. Widget previews in the widget picker. Predictive back gesture.
- Fixed: calendar changes that stayed as "Changes still waiting" since September now arrive.
- Fixed: the highlighter colour on the timetable.
1.3.42026-10-03
Changes that were stuck on phones and tablets now arrive.
- Fixed: a page-size change made in the web app could stay stuck as "Changes still waiting" on phones, tablets and the Mac app. It now arrives, and Try again clears anything already stuck.
1.3.32026-10-03
Your Google account in one place, and calendar files in and out.
- Settings, Calendar shows one card per Google account. Configure opens a page with all of that account's calendars: turn each on or off and set its colour, default tag and name. Disconnect the account at the bottom.
- Adding a calendar starts with Sign in with Google. A calendar link (.ics) is still there, folded underneath.
- Import a .ics file: choose a new calendar named after the file, or NorthStar's own calendar. Importing the same file again updates it instead of doubling, keeps your edits, and leaves events you deleted deleted.
- An imported calendar has its own card and can be removed with all its events.
- Export to .ics: pick calendars, dates, and whether tags and descriptions go along. Your notes stay out unless you include them.
- A calendar Google no longer lists can still be removed from the account page.
- The first-run screen uses Sign in with Google.
1.3.22026-10-02
Stuck calendar changes clear themselves, and the app tells you when you are signed out or an update is ready.
- Fixed: a calendar event that existed twice under different names could leave "Changes still waiting" on a device forever. The device now keeps one copy, with your tag, silenced reminders and own titles, and the stuck items clear on the next sync.
- If you are signed out, the app asks you to sign in again when you open it. The signed-out banner can be closed and goes away by itself once you sign in.
- Every "Try again" and "Sync now" button shows that it is working and then says how it went.
- Changing a calendar's default tag asks whether it should apply to all its events or only to upcoming ones.
- Each calendar in Settings now holds its own colour, default tag and, for Google, which calendars to show.
- Google accounts connected earlier get a hint that they can now show more of their calendars.
- The app lets you know when a new version is available. On Android the notification downloads it.
- NorthStar is now available for Mac. Android phones and tablets use the same download.
- Reports sent from Settings now say which change is stuck and for how long.
- The browser tab shows NorthStar again.
1.3.12026-10-02
A calmer notebook on iPad, and smoother ink if you want it.
- On iPad, the pen palette now holds only the pens, colours and one Size button. Undo, redo, Insert (picture or text) and Paste are in the top bar; Clear page is under the three dots.
- When you lasso something, its actions appear in a small bar at the top of the page (at the bottom when the palette sits at the top), and go away when you are done.
- The top bar uses the full width: the title sits in the middle and Done at the edge.
- Picking a pen size closes the size menu, and tapping outside an open menu no longer draws on the page.
- New in Settings, Ink: Normal, Medium or Smooth handwriting. Smooth rounds corners and evens out the line. It only changes how ink is drawn, never what is saved.
- On iPad and computers, choosing a setting only changes the right side of Settings; the list stays where it is.
1.3.02026-10-02
A floating pen palette, one-finger scrolling, and more of your calendars.
- The pen tools float: they fold into one round button that shows the pen you are using. Drag it anywhere; near an edge it snaps to it. Tap it to open the tools, across at the top or bottom, down the side at the left or right. Drag the open tools by their handle and they fold up again.
- The page buttons moved to the top bar of a notebook: the page number under the title opens all pages, Share sits beside it, and everything else is under the three dots.
- With the Pencil (or with drawing by finger turned off), one finger scrolls the page up and down, keeps gliding after a flick, and moves on to the next page at the end.
- Copy, cut and paste with Ctrl or Cmd plus C, X and V on a keyboard.
- New notebook pages are A4, upright or sideways. A whiteboard can have any size: A4, A3, square, the screen, or your own width and height.
- Scanned pages keep their colours.
- A calendar can have a default tag. Its events show that tag unless you tagged them yourself, and you can apply it to those too.
- Google accounts can sync more than the main calendar: choose which calendars in Settings. Extra calendars can be viewed but not edited here yet.
- Calendar links are now called calendar links (.ics). Outlook is one place to get one.
- Fixed: the last day of a repeating all-day event from a calendar link was missing.
- Fixed: an old copy of a Google event could show instead of the newest one.
- Fixed: a drawing saved while a page was being deleted could land on another page.
- Fixed: picking a colour for a calendar, removing it and picking again could fail.
1.2.52026-10-02
A deleted to-do or event stays deleted, and the newest change wins.
- A to-do or an event you deleted could come back as a copy when another device still had an older change for it. A delete now always wins, and the copies that had piled up are gone.
- When two devices change the same to-do or event, the most recent change is kept.
- Setting a tag on a repeating event no longer touches the dates you deleted from it.
- The sync status no longer says you are signed out when the server only had a short hiccup.
- When saving an event fails, the message now says whether it was not saved at all or only not sent to the other calendar yet, and what you typed stays in place.
1.2.42026-10-02
No more empty Leftover folders, Trash restores without copies, and fewer surprise sign-outs.
- A Leftover folder kept appearing again and again, usually empty, in to-dos and in stickers. Extra copies are now folded into one, and a Leftover you delete stays deleted unless there is something new to file into it.
- Restoring something from the Trash could leave a second copy of it on your other devices. A restore now brings back the original.
- The app could sign you out when the server had a short hiccup or the device could not save its sign-in. It now stays signed in and tries again.
- A device that had a lot to catch up on could get stuck on a very large change. It now downloads it anyway, without running out of memory.
- A Top 3 line that is too long for its row now gets smaller text so it still fits on one line, in the app and in the widgets on iPhone and iPad.
1.2.32026-10-02
The warning that nothing was saved online stays closed once you close it.
- The warning that nothing had been saved online came back after every sync attempt, even after you closed it. It now stays closed until something actually changes.
1.2.22026-10-02
Syncing works again on devices with a lot of handwriting, and on the web with several tabs open.
- A device with a lot of handwriting to download could get stuck on the same batch for ever: the batch was too big to accept, so it asked for it again and again, and nothing from your other devices arrived. It now asks for smaller batches until one fits.
- On the web, having the app open in two tabs could sign every tab out after a quarter of an hour, so changes made there stayed on that computer. The tabs now take turns renewing the sign-in.
1.2.12026-09-22
The notebook's two toolbars fold away when they are in the way.
- Both bars on a notebook page fold and come back, independently: the pen tools and the bottom bar that carries Share, the page shape and the scanner. Folded, each leaves a small pill to tap, the way a tool palette does on iPad, so nothing becomes unreachable.
- The choice is remembered on this device and is not synced: how a slab is arranged under your hand is not a fact about the account. A device wipe keeps it, like the other page preferences.
1.2.02026-09-22
Widgets can follow one tag, and they come back properly after a restart.
- A widget can be set to show only one tag's events. On iPhone and iPad the choice is in the widget's own settings (hold it, Edit Widget, Which events); on Android it is asked when the widget is added. The next lesson, today, the timetable and the upcoming list can all be filtered; Top 3 and the to-do list cannot, because 'which events' has no meaning there.
- A widget you have already placed keeps working and keeps showing everything. A widget set to a tag that is later deleted falls back to showing everything rather than going empty.
- Fixed on Android, and it affected every widget, not only tagged ones: nothing re-armed the refresh alarm after a restart. The system clears alarms on reboot and on an app update, so until the next half-hourly fallback a widget could sit on its old picture with no lesson change and no midnight. It does not look broken, it looks like a quiet day.
- Fixed on Android: reading a widget's own setting could throw when the system woke the app before anything else in it existed, which is exactly the case after a reboot. A widget that throws there shows 'Problem loading widget'.
- The choice each widget carries is now proved to survive a restart by tests that read the file back from disk, rather than by reasoning about it. The Android side of this repo had no unit tests at all before; it has fourteen now, and they ship nothing in the app.
- What's new has pictures: the tag being chosen on an event, Settings side by side on the iPad, and the paste button on the notebook toolbar.
- Fixed: the picture on the 1.0 note showed a menu entry that 1.1 had moved, and its line told you to open a menu that no longer holds it.
1.1.02026-09-22
Tags on events, Settings side by side on the iPad, paste that works, one Share button, and a stuck banner you can finally answer.
- Events can carry a tag. Work and Personal are there from the start, and you can add, rename, delete and reorder your own. A repeating event tags the whole series. Choosing which tag a WIDGET shows is not built yet: the widgets have no per-instance settings on either phone platform, so that is its own piece of work.
- Settings on the iPad is one screen in two halves: the list of sections on the left, the section on the right, like the iPad's own Settings. The selection is the address, so a link, the back gesture and the address bar cannot disagree. At very large text it goes back to one column, which is what Apple's own split views do.
- Press and hold offers Paste again. Two separate faults: the notebook page refused every finger the moment a stylus had touched it, so the hold menu never armed, and every text field in the app had been asking iOS to draw the menu since a Flutter change, with nothing drawn at all when iOS declined. The app draws its own menu now.
- A paste button sits beside the text tool, for when a menu is not wanted or not offered. It pastes at the caret, and it is the only paste a note block and the day panel have ever had.
- Share is one button. It asks whether you want a link, this page as a PDF, or the whole notebook as a PDF.
- Shared links show the pictures. They never have: a page's picture was named by its row id and asked for by its content hash, so every shared page said the picture was not available while it sat on the server the whole time. A page with nothing on it now says so instead of looking broken.
- Stickers appear the first time a folder is opened. A tile that lost the race to the bytes landing on disk could never retry, which is why leaving the folder and coming back fixed it. They also decode at tile size now, which is about 70 percent less memory for a sheet.
- The banner about a change from another device can be answered: it opens a list of what is stuck, how many, and since when, with Try now and a way to close it. When something can only be fixed by a newer NorthStar, it says that instead of promising to keep trying.
- To-dos that roll over while you are watching the day are seen to move to tomorrow, with a line saying where they went and an Undo that holds.
- The device limit is gone from the product: the column, the refusal, the screen and the wire fields. Your devices are still listed and can still be signed out. Counting is not limiting.
- The pay reminder appears only when a plan has actually run out, and the app says so once through a notification. The reminder that appeared before a plan expired is gone.
- Fixed: the report you send from Settings arrived with every line blacked out, so it said nothing. Diagnostic lines keep their words and numbers now while still dropping anything that could be a note, a title or a calendar link.
1.0.32026-09-21
You can send a suggestion or report a problem from inside the app, and hear back when it ships.
- Settings can send him a suggestion or a problem report. A problem report can carry the app's own diagnostics: versions, the platform, and the last few error lines the app already keeps. It shows exactly what will be attached before it is sent, and the tick can be cleared.
- What is attached is an allow-list on BOTH sides. The server keeps seven fields and drops everything else, and every value goes through the same scrubbers the device logs use, so note text, an event title or a calendar link cannot ride along. A test feeds all three at it and asserts none survive.
- A list in Settings shows what you sent and where it stands: sent, accepted, declined, or in a build.
- When something you asked for ships, the app tells you the same way it warns you before an event, and one email goes out. Both are claimed in the database so neither can arrive twice.
- He sees them in the admin panel, newest first, with who sent it and from which version, and can accept, decline or mark one shipped.
- The reminder for an unpaid plan is now a full screen you can close rather than a small box. It reminds; it locks nothing. The moment a plan is marked paid, it stops appearing.
- Settings shows a supporter badge once a plan is paid, with the date it is paid until.
- Fixed: the pay reminder could throw at launch on a device that was already signed in, because it wrote its own state while the widget tree was still building.
- Fixed: a suggestion that had actually been sent could report that the server refused it.
1.0.22026-09-21
The welcome letter can actually arrive in Slovene, and the web app shows something the moment it is opened.
- The welcome letter follows the language the app is in. It had a Slovene version already and could never send it: nothing on the wire said which language to use, so a Slovene app got an English letter. The app now says so when the account is made, and an app that says nothing still gets English.
- That language field is free text from an unauthenticated caller, so the server validates it and IGNORES anything that is not a language tag rather than refusing to create the account.
- Fixed a sentence in the Slovene letter that ran straight into the link after it. A test now fails on any phrase glued to a link, in either language.
- The web app paints immediately instead of showing a white page while the two megabytes of app arrive: the star, the name and a loading rule, drawn with no extra request. It disappears the moment the app has drawn its first frame.
- A web deploy no longer deletes the hosted Android download. The APK lives inside the published web folder and the publish mirrored that folder with --delete, so the Download button on the site was one deploy away from a 404 at any time.
1.0.12026-09-21
The app speaks Slovene everywhere: the screens, the landing page, the welcome mail and the shared page.
- Slovene now covers all 1295 app strings. 21 are identical to English on purpose: Top 3, the unit pt, and the keyboard key names Page Up, Page Down and Home, which a Slovene keyboard also spells that way.
- The landing page, the welcome mail and the page a person opens from a share link are Slovene too, so nothing switches back to English halfway through.
- Six strings are still English and are listed in translations/sl-pending.md rather than machine translated.
- Tests that asserted a Slovene phrase by hand now assert the value in the translation file, so a reworded translation no longer reads as a broken screen.
1.0.02026-09-21
Version 1.0.0. The version alone names a release, the platform build integer is derived from it, and What's new is split from the changelog.
- Version scheme: a release is now 1.0.0, then 1.0.1, then 1.1.0. core/version.dart holds the one human-typed version and the one implementation of the platform integer, code = major*10000 + minor*100 + patch, so 1.0.0 is 10000. That clears 93, the last build number shipped, and no device sees the number fall.
- The build number is gone from every surface a person can see: Settings, the licence page, the What's new sheet and the release tag, which is now v1.0.0. tool/build_release.sh tag is the only place that tag is spelled.
- app_version_test.dart pins pubspec.yaml to the formula, so a hand-edited +N is a red test rather than a build that will not install over its predecessor. tool/build_release.sh runs that gate before it builds anything, and the iOS check now also pins CFBundleShortVersionString to the pubspec version.
- changelog.json gained an optional whatsNew block per release. Two projections come off one array: every release reaches the changelog, only a release with a whatsNew block reaches What's new. A release with nothing user-visible now shows nothing there instead of a list of internals.
- What's new entries can carry a picture. They ship bundled under assets/whats_new/ as light and dark pairs, are chosen by the theme brightness, and carry alternative text for VoiceOver. The suite fails both ways: an entry that names a missing picture, and a picture no entry names.
- The per-device seen marker moved from northstar.seen_build to northstar.seen_release and holds a version code. A device upgrading from the old scheme has no marker, which already means "this release only", so nobody is shown 0.x history.
0.18.0 (93)2026-09-21
Pages you can see whole, page turns that feel right, sharing a page with someone who does not have the app, and the calendar moves again.
- Zooming out now shows a whole page at once, whichever way you hold the iPad. Pages you already had work too: a page remembers its shape the first time you open it.
- Every page has a faint edge now, so you can see where the paper ends.
- Turning a page in a notebook is smooth. Before, the page you had just turned away from came back for a moment before the new one arrived.
- You can send a page or a whole notebook to someone who does not have the app. They open a link and see your handwriting on paper, with your name above it. Nothing to install and no account.
- A link can be a fixed copy, or it can keep up with your notebook. The page says which one it is and when the copy was made.
- A shared link can be turned off at any time, and deleting a page turns off its links by itself.
- Share this page is on the page menu in a notebook, next to the page shape.
- Switching between Day, Week and Month animates again. It had been showing the new view first and then animating towards it.
- Movement across the whole app now follows one set of timings, and everything respects Reduce Motion if you turn it on.
- A Top 3 line that is too long now continues on a second line instead of sliding out of sight.
- The hours down the side of the timetable follow your text font, or you can choose a font just for them.
0.18.0 (92)2026-09-21
Pages keep their shape when you turn the iPad, a scanner puts paper straight into your notes, reminders before every event, and three new widgets.
- A page now keeps the shape it was made in. Turning the iPad no longer moves your writing, your pictures or your text boxes: it only changes how much of the page you can see.
- You can choose whether a page stands up or lies down. It is on the page bar, under the three dots, and a new page in the same notebook follows the one you chose.
- You can now zoom out far enough to see a whole page at once, with a little space around it.
- Turning a page shows the page straight away instead of an empty sheet while it loads.
- A document scanner. Take a picture of a sheet of paper and it goes into a notebook page, the day's notes, or an event. Several sheets in one go, and it is cleaned up to look like a scan.
- Reminders. Every event tells you 15 minutes before it starts, and each one can be turned off on its own. All day events remind you the evening before, at a time you choose.
- Three new widgets: today's timetable, everything coming up, and the day's to do list. The to do list can be ticked from the home screen.
- Widgets for the lock screen: the next lesson, and how many things are left to do.
- Tapping a widget now opens the right place in the app instead of wherever you left it.
- Writing from your other devices now appears while you watch, instead of only after leaving the day and coming back.
- On the phone, the daily notes are a list of days again. Tap one to open it. It no longer eats the screen as you scroll.
- The time and the lesson number can be sized separately.
- You can give each hour your own name, and a different one per weekday.
- Pasting on a whiteboard works. On Android a picture can be pasted onto a board at all now, and pasted writing saves instead of failing.
- Documents, notebooks, task lists and stickers that were left loose at the top level are filed away, so the top level holds only folders.
- A backup no longer brings back a Google calendar that cannot work. The app says so and offers a button that takes you straight to connecting it again.
- A repeating Google event now shows its Repeat setting, greyed out, instead of hiding it.
0.18.0 (91)2026-09-17
Events can repeat, a day no longer splits into two copies of itself, and rubbing out stays rubbed out.
- Events you make in the app can now repeat: every day, week, month or year, or a pattern you set yourself. They can run forever, until a date, or for a number of times.
- Changing or deleting a repeating event asks whether you mean just this one, this one and the ones after it, or all of them. Every choice can be undone.
- A repeating event can skip Slovenian public holidays.
- The timetable, all day drawing, short notes, Top 3 and month drawing of a day no longer split into two separate copies when two devices write at the same moment. Copies that already existed are joined, and nothing is thrown away.
- A new whiteboard or notebook page no longer wipes what another device drew on it at the same moment.
- When two devices wrote the same Top 3 line, both texts now show, joined together. Editing the line makes it one again.
- Rubbing out sticks now. Marks came back after leaving a day and returning, and in short notes and month drawing.
- A stroke drawn just before leaving a day is no longer lost.
- After answering the question about another account's notes, your edits save again. Before, they quietly did not.
- Undo on a deleted event no longer leaves a second copy behind.
- A notice now appears when a change from one of your other devices cannot reach this one.
- This device only is now called App only, because those events do sync between your own devices.
- Notebook covers have four new textures and eight new colours.
0.18.0 (90)2026-09-16
Pictures download themselves when you open a note, saving a file on Android lets you choose where it goes, and the day note no longer says it saved when it did not.
- A picture that is not on this device now downloads itself the moment something needs to draw it. Before, it said it was not downloaded and then never asked for it, on every device, for ever.
- Page cards in a notebook now fill in as their pictures arrive, instead of staying blank until you moved away and came back.
- Saving a file on Android now opens the normal Save dialog and lets you pick where it goes, instead of offering to share it. Sharing a link still shares.
- Cancelling that Save dialog is no longer treated as a failure. It also no longer counts as having taken a copy, which matters on the screen that offers you a copy before erasing everything.
- The day note said Saved even when the save had failed. It now only says Saved once the writing is really stored, so an empty tick can no longer hide lost words.
- A single note exported from the browser was labelled as a zip file. It is now labelled as the PDF it is.
0.18.0 (89)2026-09-16
Pictures and stickers show up in the browser again, a day keeps one note instead of two, and your notes start in a Documents folder.
- Stickers, note covers and pictures were blank in the browser. They show now. They had been arriving all along, the browser simply never drew them.
- Page cards inside a notebook were blank in the browser for the same reason, and they show now too.
- A picture that genuinely has not arrived yet says so, instead of looking like empty paper.
- Writing in a day on two devices could quietly leave two separate notes for that day, and only one of them ever showed. Your words in the other one were still there but out of reach. A day now keeps one note, and where two already exist they are joined back together with both sets of words kept.
- Your notes now start with a Documents folder, and anything that was sitting loose outside a folder has been moved into it.
- At the top level you make folders. Inside a folder you make the documents and notebooks.
- Back from Storage, Recent problems, Upload queue and Trash now returns to the page you came from, instead of jumping to the start of Settings.
- The Documents folder offered a Delete that never did anything. It is gone.
0.18.0 (88)2026-09-16
Pictures go up the moment you add them, notebooks save themselves, and a fresh install no longer jams behind its own stickers.
- A picture now starts uploading the second you put it in a notebook, and you can watch it go. Before, it waited for the next sync, and on a new device it waited behind all 266 built-in stickers, which took minutes.
- Your own picture now jumps ahead of those stickers. What you just did goes first.
- On a brand new phone the app was setting up its sticker library before it knew whose account it was. That stamped hundreds of rows with a placeholder name, and one of them stopped syncing altogether. This is what made it say it was waiting to upload and never finish.
- The same problem crashed the sticker setup partway through, which is why some devices ended up with doubled sticker folders and gaps in the library.
- A full page notebook now saves itself as you write, instead of only when you press Done. Closing it with the back gesture, or the phone shutting the app, can no longer lose the page.
- Pressing Done while it was already saving used to do nothing at all, silently. It now waits and closes properly.
- Start fresh no longer changes how the app behaves. It used to wipe your drawing and view settings along with your data, so finger drawing would quietly switch itself back on.
- The setting for it is clearer too: it now says Pencil only, instead of Hide draw with a finger, which meant the opposite of what it looked like.
0.18.0 (87)2026-09-15
Your work can no longer go missing between devices, and the app tells you the truth about what has and has not been sent.
- The biggest one: if you drew on the iPad and on the phone on the same day, whichever one synced second used to quietly wipe out the other one's drawing. Both are now kept. The server puts the two pages together stroke by stroke, and on the rare occasion it cannot be sure, it shows you both drawings side by side and asks which to keep, instead of choosing for you.
- The last stroke before you lift the pen could be lost if a sync happened to be running at that moment. It is not any more.
- A picture that could not be uploaded used to hold back every note, notebook and sticker connected to it, forever, with no limit and nothing on screen to say so. Now it gives up after a fair number of tries, tells you it did, offers to try again, and lets everything else through in the meantime.
- Pictures already on the server were only downloaded if they had changed in the last two weeks, so anything restored from a backup was too old to ever arrive. Every picture you can reach is fetched now, and a download that fails is retried later instead of being forgotten.
- A picture shared by two things could be deleted off every device at once if the devices disagreed about how many things were using it. Nothing is deleted now while anything still points at it.
- The same picture created on two devices used to leave one copy that never arrived, which is what gave you doubled sticker folders and blank stickers.
- Deleting everything and starting fresh could quietly download the whole account straight back into the device you had just cleared.
- Wiping a device left it signed in under an old identity, so it signed in as one device and synced as another, and it never logged itself out.
- A device that stopped syncing could stay silent forever. Now it notices and either recovers by itself or says so.
- A calendar link added on the iPad now reaches the phone and the web instead of staying on the one device.
- You can restore a backup during setup now, right after signing in, instead of having to finish setup and find it in the settings.
- The app no longer says Saved when a note is still waiting on a picture to upload.
- On the iPad, a finger could keep drawing when it should have been turning the page, and the app forgot the Pencil had been used every time you turned a page. Both fixed.
- A swipe that starts on a picture now turns the page. Tapping a picture still selects it, and dragging one you have selected still moves it.
- New choice in Pen and ink: the page can turn like a book instead of sliding.
- The sign in to sync message no longer appears on a device that is already signed in, and the account screen fits properly on a phone.
0.18.0 (86)2026-09-14
Changes now reach your other devices in seconds instead of minutes, and the app no longer says everything is saved when it is not.
- Unlocking your phone used to be the slowest way to get your notes. The app had a request still open from before the screen locked, and that request was already dead, so it waited for it to give up, decided it was offline, and then only tried again every few minutes. Now it starts a fresh one the moment you come back, and what you wrote on the iPad is there as you look at the phone.
- Short locks were the worst case, oddly: leaving the phone for five minutes recovered on its own, but putting it in your pocket for two ran into this every time.
- A device that lost its connection for a moment used to go quiet for a full minute, and after a longer outage for five. It now tries again within seconds of the network coming back.
- Opening the app is now a proper catch-up. The loading screen waits for new changes to arrive rather than flashing past them, and gives up quickly if there is nothing to wait for, so a bad connection does not leave you staring at it.
- Pictures and handwriting are sent alongside your text now instead of ahead of it, so one large picture that is struggling to upload no longer holds up everything you typed.
- The app used to say 'Saved' even when a note was being held back because its picture had not finished uploading. It now tells you when something is still on its way, and says so when an upload has failed for good rather than looking settled.
0.18.0 (85)2026-09-09
The app can now read its own notes while the iPad is locked, which is what stopped it syncing.
- The app can only work while it is open, and closing it used to stop everything mid-send. It now uses the few seconds the phone gives it on the way out to finish one more round, so what you just wrote leaves as you put the device down instead of waiting for the next time you open it.
- It does not keep asking in the background afterwards. One last round, then quiet.
- An open drawing now updates while you are looking at it. Before, a page you had open showed the other device's writing only after you left it and came back. The words were already on the iPad; the screen simply never re-read them.
- Restoring a backup while signed out now says so before it starts. Everything comes back on the device either way, and it begins syncing the moment you sign in, but the app used to leave you guessing.
- A picture that has not finished downloading now keeps its place on the page and says so, instead of leaving a gap. When it arrives it drops straight in and nothing moves.
- Fixed a health check that had been raising a false alarm about every one of your devices. Because it was stuck on, it could never have warned you about a real problem. It now counts only the work that was actually meant to leave the device.
- Stickers you take off a day no longer leave an invisible trace behind for ever. The picture itself is never touched, so a sticker still sitting on another day keeps its image.
- Fixed a fault that filled the Recent problems list with the same message over and over, twice for every page the app received. It only keeps the last fifty, so everything else was pushed out within seconds and the list could not tell you what was actually wrong.
- Fixed the real reason an iPad could stop syncing. Everything the app saved was tied to the screen being on, so the moment you put the iPad down and it locked, the app could no longer read its own notes and the sync died with a disk error. Your notes are still encrypted. From the first time you enter your passcode after a restart, the app can read them with the screen off, instead of being shut out again every time the screen goes dark.
- The badge on the main screen now also speaks when the app is not syncing because nobody is signed in. Before it only spoke about the network, so a device that had never synced at all looked exactly like one that was fine.
- Fixed the reason a phone could keep signing itself out. When two parts of the app renewed the login at the same moment, the server correctly treated it as a stolen login and cancelled it, and you were signed out with no warning. The app now renews once, for everyone waiting.
- Fixed the reason a lot of the built-in stickers never appeared. One sticker that would not load took its whole folder down with it, and the app then treated that folder as finished, so those stickers never arrived on any later start either. One bad sticker now costs one sticker.
- Your own sticker folders now sit at the top of the list, above the nineteen that came with the app. Rename one of the shipped folders and it moves up with yours, because renaming it is how you say it is yours now.
- The built-in stickers that never arrived are now filled in on the next start. Stopping the loss did not undo it, so a folder that is short of the stickers it should have gets the missing ones added, and only the missing ones.
0.18.0 (71)2026-09-09
A launch screen, a badge when nothing is syncing, and the stickers are yours from the start.
- There is a launch screen now, and it uses that moment to ask the server once so you do not open a month that is a day behind. It never waits longer than nine tenths of a second, so a bad connection cannot make the app slow to open.
- The app used to say nothing at all when it was not syncing, which looks exactly the same as working. A small badge now appears on every screen while nothing is reaching the server, and disappears on its own. The big warning bar is unchanged, so it still means something when you see it.
- All 271 stickers that come with the app are now in your library from the start, one folder per set. They were already inside the app but nothing showed them unless you went looking.
- A sticker folder you delete stays deleted, and a second device will not give you every sticker twice.
0.18.0 (70)2026-09-09
Turning a page is smooth now, and you can see the edge of the paper as it goes.
- Turning a page rebuilt the whole board - the page, the toolbar, the page strip - on every single frame. On a 120Hz screen that is 120 times a second, which is why it felt worse on the faster display than on a slower one. The page is now drawn once and only the movement is redrawn.
- Two sheets of the same colour sliding past each other had no visible boundary, so a turn looked like the writing moving rather than a page going by. The moving sheet now has its own edge and a shadow while it moves, and costs nothing when it is still.
- The page settle was completely linear - it crossed its whole travel at one speed and stopped dead. It now eases to a stop.
0.18.0 (69)2026-09-09
You can put a picture down again, and the page turns while one is selected.
- Tapping away from a selected picture did nothing when 'draw with a finger' is hidden, or once the Pencil had touched the page. The page was claiming your touch before deciding it would refuse it, so nothing handled the tap - you could pick a picture up and never put it down. Fixed.
- While a picture was selected the page would not turn, and since you could not deselect it, the page was a dead end. Both halves are fixed.
- The page-turn animation was completely linear, so the page crossed its travel at one speed and stopped dead. It now eases to a stop.
- On the web, an app whose stored data cannot be opened can now clear itself and start again from inside the app. Before this it showed a Try again button that could never work, and the only way out was digging through browser settings.
0.18.0 (68)2026-09-08
The upload queue could get stuck for good. It cannot any more.
- Old page pictures that nothing points at any more used to sit in the upload queue for ever. Build 67 made the uploader skip them without telling the part of the app that decides 'this note may not sync until its pictures are up' - so notes, stickers, notebooks and folders stopped syncing entirely, while to-do lists kept working because they have no pictures. Those pictures are now retired properly and stop blocking.
- One picture that failed at the socket used to end the whole upload run without recording anything, so it was first in the queue again next time and everything behind it waited for ever. It is now recorded, moved to the back, and the next file goes.
- The upload screen said 'Waiting its turn' for a file that would never be sent. A failed attempt now says so.
- Erasing everything on this device left the app still thinking you were signed in, so setup skipped the sign-in step and everything you wrote afterwards was marked as belonging to nobody - which stops syncing in BOTH directions with nothing on screen to say why. Erasing now really signs you out.
0.18.0 (67)2026-09-08
Things you write reach your other device much sooner, and every tab now sits on a rounded page.
- The app used to wait up to 30 seconds between checks when you were reading rather than writing. With a notebook open it now checks every 6 seconds, because that is exactly when you are waiting to see something appear.
- Typing quickly used to push the send back with every word, so a whole sentence waited for the next scheduled check. The wait now starts at the first word and does not slide.
- Every time you left a notebook page the app made a fresh picture of it, and the old pictures still queued up to be sent - oldest first. Your words sat behind pictures nobody would ever look at. Those are now skipped.
- If a batch of changes coming down was too big for the app to read, it gave up and asked for exactly the same batch again, for ever. It now asks for a smaller one.
- If the app was locked mid-sync, the half-finished sync could hang and every later attempt would quietly wait on it instead of starting. After five minutes it is now abandoned and a fresh one starts.
- Notes, General, Stickers and Settings now sit on the same rounded page the calendar and Tasks already had.
- The arrows next to folders are gone. The folder you have open is shown by its icon instead.
0.18.0 (66)2026-09-08
A failed background save no longer closes the box you are typing in.
- While you type, the app keeps a copy of the words about a second after you stop. If that copy could not be written, it used to put the page back to its last saved state - which closed the box you were typing in and showed 'not saved, try again'. It now leaves you alone and lets the next real save report any problem.
0.18.0 (65)2026-09-08
Typing in a notebook is written down as you type.
- Words you type into a text box are now saved about a second after you stop typing, without taking the cursor out of the box. Before this they were only written when something ended the edit, so if the app was closed or killed while a box was still open, they were gone.
0.18.0 (64)2026-09-08
Notebooks can be renamed, typing saves itself, and undo now covers text.
- A notebook or a note can be renamed from the ... menu. Until now a notebook was named once, when it was created, and there was no way to change it afterwards.
- Pressing anything outside the page, the toolbar, the bar at the top, now puts down a picture you were holding and finishes whatever you were typing. Before this, typed words were only saved when you tapped the page itself, so words followed by a tap on the toolbar could be lost.
- Undo and redo now work on typed text as well as ink. One finished edit, one drag or one deletion is one step, so a paragraph takes one press to take back rather than one press per letter.
- Typing a line that starts with a dash and pressing Enter starts the next line with a dash. Numbered lines count themselves, and an empty item ends the list.
- Rubbing out a mark in the month view now removes it from that day's short notes as well, and the other way round. Before this it came straight back on the next save.
- The shortcut button on a text box is now shown greyed out on a notebook with one page, with a note that it needs a second page, instead of being hidden entirely.
- 236 more stickers, arranged in folders, and a set of icons, undo, redo, back, forward, up, down, clock, idea, pin, flag, heart and smile, that take the colour of your theme.
- The scripture stickers no longer carry a slice of the card next to them, and three of them have their 'she is' line back after being cut off.
0.18.0 (63)2026-09-07
Moving notes from another account to this one no longer fails on the settings row.
- Choosing to move notes from another account to this one could fail outright, because both accounts had their own settings on the device and only one of them can exist. The notes you asked to keep now bring their settings with them.
0.18.0 (62)2026-09-07
When moving notes to this account fails, the message now describes what you actually chose.
- Choosing to move notes from another account to this one, and having it fail, used to say the notes could not be deleted and then offer to move them - the very thing that had just failed. It now says what happened and does not send you round the same loop.
0.18.0 (61)2026-09-07
A page whose picture is missing from this device now syncs anyway, instead of never syncing at all.
- If a picture's file is not on this device, the page it sits on used to wait for it forever and never reach the server. The writing on that page now syncs, and the picture arrives from whichever device still has it.
- A picture waiting for room in your account still holds its page, which is different: that one is coming as soon as there is space.
0.18.0 (60)2026-09-07
Keeping your notes when you sign into a different account now sends the pictures too.
- Choosing to keep the notes already on a device, when signing into a different account, now offers that account the pictures as well. They were treated as already sent, so the pages arrived without them and only other devices could see the gap.
0.18.0 (59)2026-09-07
A picture left over from another account on the same device stopped everything queued behind it from reaching the server.
- A device that had been signed into another account could keep a picture in its upload queue under that old account. Everything queued behind it then waited forever, and nothing on screen said so. The queue now hands the picture to whoever is signed in.
- This is what kept one iPad holding drawings it had already made: it sent most of them and then quietly kept the rest.
- Pictures already stuck under an old account are handed back on the next sign-in, so a device that had been stuck for days repairs itself instead of staying stuck.
0.18.0 (56)2026-09-07
Erasing everything on this device can be reached from Settings, where a working install can actually find it.
- You can erase everything on this device from Settings, under Your data. It used to be on the welcome screen only, which an app you have already set up never shows again.
- The same screen offers to save a copy first, both as a file you can import back and as PDFs you can read anywhere.
0.18.0 (55)2026-09-07
Pictures and PDFs from other apps can be pasted onto a page, the calendar moves smoothly on the iPad, and the app tells you when it cannot reach the server.
- You can paste a picture or a PDF copied in another app straight onto a page. Hold a finger on the paper and choose Paste.
- A pasted PDF arrives as its first page. To put a whole document in, use the page bar's import, which makes one page per page.
- A picture you copy inside the app can now be pasted onto another page or into another notebook, and it stays there if you delete the note you copied it from.
- Switching between month, week and day is smooth on the iPad. The change used to build two calendars in the same frame.
- The app opens with a short animation instead of a blank screen.
- After an update, a short note tells you what is new.
- The release notes are rewritten in plain language.
- Uploads have their own screen. It shows what is still waiting, how fast it is going, and what is stuck.
- The page that said everything was safely on the server could say that while pictures had never left the device. It counts properly now.
- Tasks are filed in folders the same way notes and stickers are.
- Losing access to a device now signs it out at once instead of on the next restart.
- You can send this device's logs from inside the app when something goes wrong.
- Erasing everything on this device really erases it. The part that clears saved passwords was looking in the wrong place and deleting nothing.
- An export now contains only your own account, and it carries the stickers stuck to your timetable, which it used to leave behind.
- A crash can no longer print what you wrote into a log.
0.18.0 (54)2026-09-06
The app speaks Slovene, the day's writing block keeps what you write, a second device can sign in, and the device limit is gone.
- The app is in Slovene throughout. About 175 lines that were still in English are translated.
- Three sentences on the website described an app that no longer exists. They are rewritten.
- What you write in the day's writing block is kept. Until now it vanished when you left the screen.
- Signing in on a second device no longer traps you. Choosing to delete the old data on it used to fail quietly and ask the same question again.
- A device you had already set up no longer runs the first-time setup again.
- There is no longer a limit on how many devices you can sign in. It was turning real devices away.
- Pictures and PDFs are fetched when a page is about to show them, instead of every picture on your account being downloaded to every device.
- If the app cannot reach the server, it says so on a full screen instead of staying quiet. A short moment offline still shows nothing.
- A notebook is a new kind of note, with its own name and its own cover, only for writing. You find it in the plus menu.
- Tapping a typed note on a day opens it for typing, not an empty whiteboard.
- Opening a day's notes full screen lands on the right one: words open the text editor, a drawing opens the board.
- Your pen no longer drags a picture around. Over a picture it lassoes, the same as on blank paper. A finger still moves and resizes pictures.
- A tap with the pen puts down a picture you have picked up.
- To add a page, hold at the edge for a moment and let go. A flick no longer adds one by accident.
- Dragging two fingers across the day's writing block no longer leaves a line on it.
- Typed text on a whiteboard is sized in points, like Word: type a size or pick one from the list.
- Typed text on a whiteboard uses the pen colours you chose in Settings.
- Stickers you put on a day of your timetable stay there after you close the app.
- Stickers on a day show in the week and the month views too.
- What you write on a day in the month view turns up in that day's short notes, and the other way round.
- With a wallpaper set, the Tasks and Notes tabs sit on a readable background, the same as Settings.
- The account row has a link to your devices on the web, where you can sign one out.
0.18.0 (53)2026-09-06
One kind of handwriting instead of two, stickers that stay on your timetable, your own photo as the background, a slimmer sidebar, and pages that no longer turn by accident.
- There is one kind of handwritten note now instead of two. The Apple kind could only be read on an iPad and showed a blank page on the web and on Android.
- Your Apple Pencil works as before: pressure, tilt, resting your hand on the glass, and the squeeze to swap to the eraser.
- A sticker you put on a day of your timetable stays there after you close the app. Until now every one of them was gone on restart.
- Stickers on your timetable reach your other devices too.
- You can put a photo of your own behind the app, from your photos or your files, on iPad and iPhone.
- The sidebar is only as wide as its icons, and its tint stops under the last icon instead of running the full height. Below that you see the same background as behind the top bar.
- Pages no longer turn when your hand drifts sideways across them. Two fingers have to move along the page to turn it.
- Tapping a typed note on a day opens it for typing, not an empty whiteboard.
- Opening a day's notes full screen lands on the right one: words open the text editor, a drawing opens the board.
- Zooming from the month into a week lifts the row you touched into place and moves the other weeks aside, instead of a panel growing over the top.
0.18.0 (52)2026-09-06
A finger moves a picture instead of drawing on it, one page exports as one PDF, event names are back on the phone's month view, and the iPhone stays upright.
- Touching a picture with a finger picks it up and moves it, whatever tool is selected. It used to draw a line across the photo. The pen still writes on pictures.
- Exporting one page or one notebook gives you a single PDF, not a zip to unpack. Exporting everything is still a zip.
- Event names are back on the phone's month view when weekends are showing. They had turned into dots.
- Days of the month you are looking at share one clean background. Days that belong to the month before or after let your wallpaper show through.
- On the iPhone the app stays upright. It no longer turns into a landscape layout it was never designed for.
- Today always opens today, in the day view.
- With a wallpaper set, Settings and the other panels sit on a readable background. The text used to be painted straight onto the photo.
- Two new sliders: how blurred your wallpaper is, and how much of it shows through behind text.
0.18.0 (51)2026-09-06
A finished task stays on the day you planned it for, tabs move the way they sit in the bar, and turning motion down really does turn it down.
- Ticking a task no longer moves it to today. It stays on the day you planned it for.
- If you prefer finished tasks on the day you ticked them, a new setting under Day and to-dos brings that back, with a note saying which day each came from. Nothing is lost either way.
- Switching tabs moves in the direction the tab sits in the bar, instead of fading in place.
- Reduce motion in your device settings now really removes the movement. It used to only make the same movement faster.
0.18.0 (50)2026-09-05
Cropping a picture now shows, tapping the page puts a picture down, month writing shows up in the day, and exports can be saved where you want them.
- Cropping a picture now shows on the page. Pressing Done looked as if it did nothing.
- Tapping the page puts down a picture you are holding. Before, the handles stayed and your next drag moved the picture you thought you had put down.
- What you write on the month grid shows up in that day's short notes without turning anything on. It was behind a switch in Timetable settings that was off, so for most people it had never run.
- Exporting a notebook, a page or a backup opens the share sheet, so you can put the file in Files, mail it, or send it anywhere. Before, it was saved somewhere you could not reach without a cable.
0.18.0 (49)2026-09-04
A text box no longer draws on the page when you open it, the words you type show in the note's preview and in the PDF, and exporting a notebook gives you all of it.
- Opening a text box on a whiteboard no longer leaves a dot of ink beside it, and dragging one no longer draws a line under it.
- Words you type on a page now appear everywhere the page does: in the note's preview in the list, in the page strip, and in the PDF you export.
- The tick beside a line of the handwritten Top 3 works. It used to do nothing.
- Export all notes writes every page of a notebook, not just the first.
- Export all notes writes notes made of paragraphs and drawings instead of a blank sheet.
- Text boxes wrap at the edge of the page instead of running off it, and a box made on the iPad fits on the phone.
- Dragging a text box no longer saves it over and over while you move it.
- At larger text sizes, the sticker selection bar and the buttons in the Crop and Text sheets wrap onto a second line instead of being cut off.
- Home screen widgets will show the Slovene once it is written. Before this they would not have.
0.18.0 (48)2026-09-04
Typed text on the whiteboard, cropping for pictures, typing beside handwriting in Top 3, and a sticker library with folders down the side.
- You can put typed text on a whiteboard page. Add text puts a box on the page, and a small handle beside it opens it again or moves it. Your pen draws straight over the words.
- A text box takes a font, a size and a colour. The first colour follows the theme, so a box written in light mode still reads in dark mode.
- Notebook pages made on this device take text too. They are the same kind of page.
- The preview of a page in lists now includes the typed text, so it matches the page.
- A picture you have placed can be cropped: hold it, tap Crop, and trim any edge with the sliders. Nothing else on the page moves while you trim.
- Top 3 takes typing and handwriting together: the pen writes and a finger types, with nothing to switch on. If finger drawing is on for the day, your finger draws instead.
- Stickers open with your folders down the side and the chosen folder on the right. The side list hides with the button in the corner when you want the room back.
- Stickers opens on All stickers, so a library you have tidied into folders does not look empty.
- Tapping a folder opens it. Tapping the arrow beside it only folds the list open or shut.
- Folder names can have their own font, size and capitals, set in Settings under Appearance. This applies in Notes and in Stickers.
- In Stickers, a selection no longer follows you into another folder, so Move and Delete only ever act on what you can see.
- Saving a lassoed selection as a sticker includes any typed text inside it, as it already did pictures.
- Exporting with the sources on writes the page's typed text beside its handwriting.
- Duplicating a note or a page brings the typed text with it.
- A second text box on a whiteboard page lands below the first instead of on top of it.
- In Stickers, All stickers shows its count in the same place a folder does.

Two devices sync again after an account was deleted and made again, and a sync problem is shown instead of hidden.
- Signing in on a device that still holds notes from a previous account no longer breaks syncing quietly. The app asks whether to move those notes to the new account or remove them, and deletes nothing unless you say so.
- A problem that stops syncing is shown across the top of every screen, on the phone as well as the iPad. Before, the only sign was a small mark in the calendar toolbar, which the phone never showed.
- Passing problems stay quiet on purpose. A moment offline, or the server restarting, shows nothing, because both fix themselves.
- The Month/Week/Day switch is no longer oversized when the phone is set to larger text. An earlier fix had landed on a layout the phone was not using.
- The plan you choose during setup is kept even if you were not signed in at the time, and sent as soon as you sign in.
- Setup no longer offers to skip choosing a plan.
- The Delete account box keeps its tick box in view on a phone and shows a scrollbar, so nothing is hidden off the bottom.
- One failed check no longer silences the reminder about paying until the app is next opened. It tries again.
- When a quiet request to the server fails, the app now records the reason, not only that it failed.
- A device no longer stops syncing when it has a lot of handwriting to send at once. It sends smaller batches, and a batch that is refused for being too big is tried again rather than given up on.
- Your background shows around the boxes on the day view, which have rounded corners, rather than behind the whole screen. Pick one in Settings to see it. With no background chosen, nothing changes.
- The day's writing area is a plain rectangle again, with no toolbar across the top.
- The day's writing area stays writable after you close the full whiteboard.
- Holding a picture shows Bring to front, Send to back and Delete right beside it, not only at the top of the screen.
- Saving a lassoed selection as a sticker includes the pictures inside it, not just the handwriting.
- Syncing that has stopped tries again by itself every few minutes, instead of waiting for the app to be closed and reopened.
- The timetable and the sidebar sit on their own panels too, so your background shows between the boxes instead of behind the ruled lines.
0.18.0 (39)2026-09-03
Setup asks whether to keep NorthStar on this device or sync it and shows the prices, every plan allows three devices, thirty stickers come built in, and a PDF says when it has finished importing.
- The month and year at the top of the calendar are readable again on a phone. The Month/Week/Day switch was taking half the bar and is smaller now.
- Every date picker starts its week on Monday. On a phone set to English it started on Sunday.
- Three devices on every plan, up from two, so an iPad, a phone and a laptop all fit.
- The Local plan keeps everything on the device, and setup says so plainly: nothing goes to the server, so there is no backup and no second device.
- Setup asks one question about cost: keep it on this device, or sync it to the server. Choosing sync shows the yearly and monthly prices. You can skip the question and decide later.
- A link to support NorthStar is on that same screen and opens in your browser. The app never takes a payment itself.
- On a synced plan you have not paid for, the app says so when you open it. If your plan runs out within the week, it says that instead, more quietly. The device-only option is bought once and never asks again.
- Thirty stickers come with the app: twelve mugs and eighteen scripture cards. They sit behind one tile in the picker; pick one and it joins your sticker library. They keep their own colours instead of taking the theme's ink.
- Adding a PDF with several pages to your stickers shows its progress page by page, then says how many were added. Before, only a failure said anything.
- The storage screen counts your stickers under images and PDFs. It used to file them under 'other', so that line read zero right after you added some.
- Your account page breaks down what is using the space, and shows anything still uploading separately from what has finished.
- Home screen widgets tell you when the app needs reinstalling instead of quietly freezing on an old day.
- Wording fixes in both languages. A handful of Slovene lines are still waiting to be written.
0.17.0 (36)2026-09-02
Home screen widgets, a note can hold more than one drawing on any device, the links on the privacy and terms pages work again, and the pen sizes can be chosen without seeing them.
- Home screen widgets on iPhone, iPad and Android: your next lesson, your Top 3, and a view of the whole day. They keep working with no signal and never hold your account details.
- The top bar on the phone is one line: the month, the view switch and Today. The sync dot moved to Settings to make room.
- A reinstalled device no longer counts as two devices.
- Tapping a lesson with the Pencil opens its preview, in Day and in Week. Drawing is untouched, with one trade: a deliberate small dot placed on top of a lesson now opens the preview instead of being drawn.
- Bring to front and Send to back work for a sticker or a picture. The buttons used to appear only when handwriting was selected.
- First-time setup no longer spreads across the iPad with an empty band between the card and the button.
- A calendar card no longer says 'On this device only' on a device that cannot know. Only the device you first pasted the link on can tell.
- A Google account you disconnected no longer leaves its calendar behind on your devices. Leftovers from an account that is already gone are cleaned up too.
- Picking a colour no longer drops your lasso selection, so moving a picture and saving a selection as a sticker keep working after you choose one.
- The week view marks today with a filled circle again. A two-digit date used to spill out of both sides of it.
- On the phone the Month/Week/Day switch is smaller, and it no longer slides sideways when you change view.
- Your theme colour and your pen colours are exactly the colours you pick. Nothing is adjusted for contrast behind your back.
- When adding tasks, the keyboard's return key files the task and leaves you typing the next one, instead of closing the keyboard.
- A brand new list hands you an empty name box instead of the words 'Untitled list' to delete.
- The box for naming a device no longer closes when you tap beside it, which is how a device ended up with no name at all.
- The app opens in light mode on a fresh install, whatever the phone is set to. Setup still asks you.
- On the web, the list of your devices loads again, and so does anything else that failed the same way.
- Devices check for each other's changes every ten seconds instead of once a minute, so an edit on one shows on the other while you are still looking.
- Calendar colours now sync to your other devices. They used to stay on the device you set them on.
- Closing a drawing you have not saved asks whether to keep it. If saving fails you stay on the page with the drawing still there. A page you did not draw on closes in one tap, and swiping back from the edge asks the same question as Cancel.
- The Android app icon fills its shape edge to edge and follows a themed home screen, instead of being shrunk onto a white circle.
- A note can hold a second drawing, and a third, on every device. Until now that only worked on iPad. A drawing added in the web app is an ordinary page with the same pen, colours and paper.
- Every link on the privacy, terms and support pages goes where it says. They used to open a blank app.
- The privacy page no longer promises that the app will tell you when it changes. Nothing was built to do that, so the sentence went.
- With a screen reader, each pen thickness button says its size in your language. They were all read out as just 'Size'.
- When two devices disagree about the same note, the app now records when each edit was made, so the right version wins if the server ever has to be restored from a backup. Nothing changes day to day.
- A fresh install no longer counts as two devices. A device that already did stays as it is, because fixing it would sign you out.
- When a setting cannot be saved during setup, the message names what went wrong instead of the same sentence every time.
0.16.0 (30)2026-09-02
The web app no longer loses the last thing you did, the week and the month are readable on a phone, and a page can no longer go missing between devices.
- On the web, a drawing is saved the moment you press Done. The last thing you did before closing or reloading the tab used to be lost.
- Week view on a phone is a list of each day's lessons, instead of seven narrow columns where every lesson showed as a single letter.
- A day in the month view on a phone shows a coloured dot for every event, instead of two cut-off names and a count.
- A five-week month no longer shows a sixth week borrowed from the next month.
- The first screen shows a timetable with handwriting on it, at a readable size, instead of a thin grey strip under the heading.
- Adding a page to a notebook, or dragging one into a new position, no longer fails when the app happens to be syncing at that moment.
- A page written on one device no longer disappears when it reaches another. A page whose place is unknown lands at the end of the notebook.
- The handwriting toolbar shows that it scrolls when it does not fit, instead of cutting a colour in half at the edge of the screen.
- General notes on a tablet gives a note title more room, opens on a note instead of on a sentence, and has one menu instead of two identical ones.
- A chosen option in Settings is painted one colour instead of two different ones.
- Each paper in the palette picker shows its own colour instead of eight identical dots.
- Screen titles on a tablet line up with their rows again instead of floating far to one side.
- The rose paper is offered when you first set the app up. It was in Settings and nowhere else.
- The website no longer says an administrator has to approve new accounts by hand. They work straight away.
0.15.0 (29)2026-09-02
Ink can no longer land on the wrong page, there is a narrow-ruled paper, and a restored server gets your notes back.
- Turning a page can no longer put your writing on the page you just left. For the instant while the next page loads, the board takes no ink.
- A third ruled paper with narrow lines, beside the normal and the wide. Every page in a notebook can use a different paper.
- If the server ever has to be restored from a backup, your devices send their notes back to it instead of stopping.
- Space from emptied trash is reclaimed on its own, instead of waiting for the app to be closed and reopened.
- New accounts work straight away, with no wait to be let in.
0.14.0 (28)2026-09-02
Two Google accounts side by side, pictures in your notes, and a whiteboard you can zoom and scroll.
- You can connect a second Google account and see which calendar belongs to which. Removing one leaves the other untouched. Two accounts that share the same calendar show it once, not twice.
- You can put a photo from your library into a note.
- A Stickers tab, with folders and a trash, for pictures you want to reuse. Anything you lasso on a whiteboard can be kept there and dropped into any note later.
- Pinch to zoom on a whiteboard, and two fingers to scroll from one page to the next. Page swiping used to be off whenever finger drawing was on.
- Signing in shows you that it is working, then that it worked, instead of a line quietly changing.
- Settings shows how much storage you are using, and which devices are signed in to your account.
- Ticking a task off grows a bigger flourish the closer you are to finishing, and finishing the day celebrates properly.
- The day count is gone from the top of every screen.
- Pasting a calendar link you already added is refused, with a message saying so, instead of quietly giving you every lesson twice.
- The back swipe works on iPad, not only on iPhone.
- The web app has a shorter address.
- PDFs and pictures can become pages of a notebook, so a worksheet can be written on like any other page. A PDF page becomes a picture on import.
- Reordering pages in a notebook works. The page strip used to keep showing the old order even though the change was saved.
- Signing in on more devices than your plan allows says so and takes you to the page where you can remove one, instead of failing with nothing to do.
0.13.0 (27)2026-09-01
Things move instead of jumping, rows answer your finger, and three quiet bugs are gone.
- Deleting a note or a list folds the row away, so the rows below slide up instead of jumping.
- Switching between Calendar, Notes, Tasks and Settings fades instead of cutting. The calendar's own month, week and day change is untouched.
- Pressing a note row or a task-list row shows that it was pressed. It used to give no sign at all.
- Tapping Save again after an event save timed out no longer risks a second copy in your Google calendar. If you changed something first, it counts as a new save.
- Being signed out by the server now says so, and says your notes are still on the device. It used to say 'Sign-in did not finish. Try again.'
- Rows in a scrolled list no longer all slide at once when something unrelated updates.
- When a note is deleted on your other device while you have it open, the editor says the note is gone and that the Trash still has it, instead of showing the empty General notes message.
- The privacy policy and terms open in Slovene when the app is in Slovene. They used to open in English whatever the language.
0.12.0 (26)2026-09-01
Fixes for what you reported, and for things that were quietly broken.
- Built-in marks you can drop into a note: a star, a tick, a warning, an arrow, a question mark and a margin bracket.
- A day with no note is a block you can write straight onto, instead of an Open canvas button. Once there is something on it, you get the preview as before.
- Ticking a task draws the mark instead of snapping it on, and the row then travels to the end of the list instead of jumping there.
- Reordering pages in a notebook is animated too.
- In a notebook that had lost a page, moving the first page down now works. It did nothing before.
- The page bar under a notebook no longer runs off the edge of an iPhone when a note has two or more pages.
- What's new (tap the version in Settings) no longer runs off the edge of the screen.
- The first screen no longer says the privacy policy and terms are coming soon. They are links.
- Deleting a page while the previous one was still saving no longer brings a deleted page back or loses your writing.
- The Top 3 and Short notes boxes have room above the first line and below the last, so the frame no longer cuts the tops and tails of your letters.
- Emptying the Trash frees space. Until now a deleted drawing kept its room for good.
- The day's note preview no longer takes over the panel.
- A menu in the notes list to fold every day shut or open them all again.
- Every tab remembers where you left it, so leaving for Settings and coming back returns you to the same day and the same note.
- Settings shows what is using space on this device.
- The pen colours say which colour they are out loud, for VoiceOver.
- Slovene for the notebook, the storage screen, What's new and the handwriting settings.
0.11.0 (24)2026-08-31
Fixes for what you reported in 0.10.0.
- Writing on the second or third page of a notebook saves to that page. It used to land on the first page and leave the others empty.
- The day's note is a preview you tap again, not a writing surface in the panel. Writing straight into it moved the page under your hand and left it unusable after Done, so it is back to what worked until that is done properly.
- The Top 3 and Short notes boxes have square corners, which gives you more room to write.
- A setting for which way a notebook's pages run, up and down or side to side.
0.10.0 (23)2026-08-31
Notebooks, a lasso for moving writing around, and the calendar shows itself from the first second.
- A note can have more than one page. Add pages, turn between them, and delete one you do not want. Turning a page saves the one you were on first.
- The lasso: draw a loop around some writing to pick it up. Move it, resize it, turn it, duplicate it, change its colour, send it behind or in front, or delete it. Everything is one undo away.
- Drag a rectangle to select instead of tracing a loop, if that is easier.
- Clear a whole page in one action, with a confirmation.
- A fresh install opens on your month, with the prompt to connect a calendar above it. It used to show an empty screen with one button.
- Write straight onto a day's writing block without opening it full screen, even on a day you have not written on before.
- Settings shows what is using space on this device, and says that anything in the Trash still counts until it is emptied.
- Tapping the version in Settings opens the list of what changed. It used to do nothing.
- Carry-over can be turned off, and explains itself when you turn it on.
0.9.0 (22)2026-08-31
Writing straight onto a day, a lasso for moving ink around, and carry-over you can turn off.
- Write straight onto a day's writing block without opening it full screen. Full screen is still there, as an icon in the block's top-left corner.
- A lasso tool: draw a loop around some writing to pick it up, then drag it somewhere else or delete it. One undo puts it back.
- Clear the whole page in one action, with a confirmation. It can be undone.
- Carry-over can be switched off. Turning it on explains what it does, and you are asked once when you first set the app up.
- Finished tasks are struck through more legibly.
- A month day with two events draws both of them instead of only saying '+2'.
0.8.0 (21)2026-08-31
Handwriting fixes for both kinds of handwriting, and the web app can save again.
- Handwriting saves on the web again. Nothing written on the web was being stored.
- Squeezing the Apple Pencil switches between pen and eraser on every writing surface, including the whiteboard.
- A new wide-ruled paper, and the dotted, ruled and squared papers are spaced more comfortably.
- The fountain pen has a finer nib.
- Both kinds of handwriting draw the same paper at the same spacing.
- A Cancel button on the whiteboard, so opening a page is no longer a commitment.
- Trash is reachable from Tasks and from Settings, not only from Notes.
- The pen and colour picker is in Week view as well as Month.
0.7.0 (16)2026-08-28
Privacy Policy and Terms open in your browser.
- Privacy Policy and Terms of Use can be tapped in Settings and open in your browser. Before this they looked like links and did nothing.
0.6.0 (15)2026-08-28
Settings stopped forgetting your theme, and sync no longer gets stuck.
- Your theme and other settings are no longer reset to the defaults when the app starts cold.
- A device that fell behind no longer blocks syncing for good.
- Notes look like one sheet of paper, and note cards show a preview.
- Slovene throughout the app.
- A table stamp for the whiteboard, and events can be edited.
